Early dental care is priceless when it comes to the future of a childs overall health and well-being. A child will benefit for the rest of his/her life from an early introduction to the dental office experience. We see people every day that have had bad experiences as a child that still effect them as adults when they come to the dentist. This can be completely avoided in this day and age by introducing a child to dentistry at an early age and continuing with regular dental visits every 6 months.

It is recommended that children be introduced to the dentist by the age of 2 and that they start seeing a dentist before they ever have a problem so their experience is positive. It is also a great opportunity for the parents to be introduced to ideas for helping their children develop good oral hygiene habits that will last a lifetime.

We start a visit usually with a no charge "happy visit" where the child is simply shown the office, rides in the chair, meets the staff, and is introduced to some of the equipment. We also begin demonstrating proper hygiene habits to the child and the parents, discuss possible ancillary products that may help, and discuss possible fluoride use. We then schedule the child for another visit in 6 months to help establish what will eventually become a life habit.

We can help prevent problems from developing by providing early intervention and care for children. We can help establish good hygiene habits for the home as well as develop a positive professional relationship for the child. We can help make dental care less expensive over the child's life. We want to share that knowledge with you the parents and the child, because in the end, we all benefit from this healthy, positive approach.

We can also help children and adolescents have a healthy smile with the many other services we offer, including sportsguards for the young athletes and sealants to help prevent tooth decay.
