Digital Radiography
Similar to traditional x-ray systems, digital radiography allows Dr. Helvey and his staff to detect decay, bone loss, and help with root canals.

To take an x-ray, Dr. Helvey or one of his staff will place a sensor (pictured at right) near the tooth and take an x-ray. The image will appear instantly on the computer screen where you and the dentist can easily view the findings.
Digital radiography offers up to 90% less radiation to the patient than traditional x-rays. The digital x-ray image can be enlarged, colorized, shown in it's positive form to show different densities, stored, e-mailed & printed out in high resolution on photo paper. You can also adjust the contrast and brightness to optimize diagnosis and find even the smallest decay.
Our office is the only dental office in town to offer this state of the art technology, allowing you to have x-rays taken using 90% less radiation.
